Balancing Act is looking for an Associate Producer to join the team. See the posting below!
ABOUT BALANCING ACT:
Founded in 2019 by Artistic Director Lisa Marie DiLiberto, Balancing Act is a national
initiative to support parents and caregivers working in the performing arts. Balancing
Act works collaboratively with research-driven initiatives and arts organizations to
reframe the way we think about care and care needs in the arts, approaching this work
on a systemic, organizational, and individual level. This past year Balancing Act
supported 16 theatre, dance and opera companies as they piloted strategies that
promote a culture of care in the arts sector. In the 2022-23 season, Balancing Act will
expand this support to 25 organizations, and will continue to host events like affinity
groups, workshops, and public roundtables.
Balancing Act is committed to the ongoing work of engaging with anti-oppressive
principles and practices. We strive to provide spaces conducive to engaging
generatively across differences, free from harassment and discrimination. All are invited
and supported to participate meaningfully, regardless of social location and values
including age, ethnicity, experience of racialization, gender expression, gender identity,
sexual orientation, ability, class, and religious or spiritual beliefs. Balancing Act and
Theatre Direct honour and celebrate our diverse and intersectional identities.
