Lifting as We Climb is a book series that celebrates remarkable women who have made significant contributions to Canadian history. Each short ebook introduces an important yet under-celebrated character to new audiences and provides fully accessible materials as a standard. Created by producer and writer Rebecca Singh, and illustrator and writer Ruth Tait, this exciting series presents stories through graphic novels and rich media ebooks, including short films about the characters and their lives.
Lifting as We Climb’s Level UP! Project
This project focused on how best to serve the needs of a small team of gig workers on an independently produced project. The driving question held by collaborators Rebecca Singh and Ruth Tait was how to direct the funds to support in a relational way.
Project Highlights:

- Developing “Acts of Care”, a mode of support for workers on a “capped” income where there is a monthly income threshold for their tax bracket
- Developing a unique outreach letter to serve the needs of a small team
- Challenging themselves to create a manifesto relating to this work
