Feeling valued as an artist and as a mother. For so many years, a mother’s paycheque when working in the theatre as an actor would go 100% to childcare because of the strange hours of what we are asked to do. This program and what Balancing Act does gives me hope that I can both be a mother and an actor.

Soulpepper Theatre’s Level UP! Project

Soulpepper offered an equal access Well-Being Fund to all artists working on Soulpepper-produced productions and workshops during the 2023/2024 season. The fund is a flat, equal access well-being stipend of $200, available to all artists engaged by Soulpepper on their mainstage productions, on an opt-in basis. Producers Annie Clarke and Robyn Hoja led the project.

Project Highlights:

    •  Supporting 63 artists across seven productions in one season
    • Engaging a sponsor for the Well-Being fund
