Studio 180 Theatre is a Toronto-based company with a mission to engage, provoke and entertain through dynamic theatre and innovative Beyond The Stage experiences that delve into social and political issues. Studio 180 produces plays—often Canadian or North American premieres of renowned international works—that tackle difficult issues and generate powerful audience responses. In addition to producing theatrical productions, they also run a play development program for Canadian playwrights, a Beyond The Stage audience outreach and enrichment program, and their IN CLASS education program that serves almost 2,000 high school students annually from across the Greater Toronto Region. Studio 180’s vision is to engage people more fully in the world through the experience of live theatre.
Studio 180 Theatre’s Level UP! Project
Led by Byron Abalos, Director of Development, Studio 180 developed a Statement of Care and an accompanying Annex that codifies a flexible working model for employees developed alongside a new strategic plan, supporting their commitment to being an artist-run company that supports the unique needs of caregivers.
Project Highlights:
- Creating a document of lasting value: The Statement of Care is a guiding principle of the company
- Creating a document that is responsive: The Annex is meant to be a living document that changes annually, according to where the company is and what its capabilities are with the resources available
