Wrap and Unpack: Embodying the Care Package is an innovative initiative that builds upon the rich insights and experiences garnered from the successful three-year pilot program, Level UP! Presented in partnership with Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT).
The groundbreaking Level UP! program established collaborations with 70 national partner organizations within the performing arts sector, collectively examining the needs of caregivers, and crafting a visionary perspective, imagining a performing arts sector that revolves around care as its core principle.
Throughout the 2023-24 season, Balancing Act will ‘wrap’ Level UP! and ‘unpack’ its significant findings and meaningful insights, traveling across Canada, fostering an evolving discussion and nurturing organic artistic growth.
“Wrap and Unpack” will touch down in Saskatoon, Montreal, Halifax, Whitehorse, and Toronto, hosting a community meal and discussion in each region. Along the way, an embodied art work will be created that will travel and mirror the progression of ideas from region to region, guiding this journey towards a sector that embodies and prioritizes care and supports artist caregivers.
