Bad Dog’s goal is to transform the culture and perception of improvised theatre, elevating the artform to unprecedented standards of success and professionalism.
Bad Dog Theatre’s Level UP! Project
Bad Dog Theatre piloted a Compassion Fund for contracted artists and arts workers on marquee productions and educational faculty, to a maximum of $150 per participant for the calendar year. As part of the pilot, Bad Dog sought to explore promising methods to share the funds and to refine future uses of, and processes for, accessing the fund. To ensure the funds were as barrier-free as possible, Bad Dog operated on an honour system of need and sought to uplift equity-owed identities.
Project Highlights:
-
- Responding to caregiving needs when both parents are artists
- Creating a comprehensive Compassion Fund Program Outline that contains a Compassion Fund form template, follow-up email template, and related research on legal definitions
