Media Conference

Conférence de presse

We were honoured to welcome Members of Parliament Karina Gould and Julie Dzerowicz, who spoke to the broader policy landscape around childcare, workforce participation, and women’s economic empowerment.

Former Minister for Women and Gender Equality Maryam Monsef moderated a Call to Action panel. As Founder and CEO of ONWARD, Monsef is a leading voice on equity, leadership, and social impact in Canada.

The panel included Martha Friendly, Executive Director of the Childcare Resource and Research Unit, Erin Goodpipe, a Dakȟóta, Anishinaabe, and Nehiyâw multidisciplinary artist, educator, and researcher, Allison Venditti, Founder of Moms at Work, and Susie Burpee, Executive Director of Balancing Act Canada. Together, the panel explored structural barriers facing caregivers in the arts and emphasized the urgent need for coordinated, cross-sector solutions.

A special live performance by JUNO-Award winning singer-songwriter Jill Barber closed the conference, grounding the day’s conversations in the artistic community at the heart of this work.
